History and Character

Hotel Buren is located in a characteristic building from 1843 where the former Maritime School on Terschelling was located. Until 1919 it functioned as a school building. Over the years it has been impressively renovated and is now a fully-fledged 3-star hotel centrally located in the village of West.

The rooms are stylish and each have their own look and feel. This together with our personal service, the location makes our hotel a popular place on the island for every guest.

Breakfast



We serve an extensive breakfast buffet with our own regional products, fresh fruit, freshly squeezed orange juice and we are happy to make a boiled, fried or scrambled egg for you. We welcome you from 08:00 to 10:30. In the winter, breakfast times may differ slightly. We will of course inform you of this at the time of check-in. Do you have special dietary requirements such as gluten-free, vegetarian and/or lactose-free, then we would also like you to have a nice breakfast. It would be nice if you let us know in advance so that we can take this into account with our purchasing.

We have a charging point for electric bikes



Our parking area is a safe place for your bike. But there is no covered parking! We do close the gate at night. Would you like to bring your electric bicycle to the island or hire one locally? Charging is no problem!

There are charging points for your use in our bicycle parking area.

There is a spacious bicycle parking area next to our building. But there is no covered parking!

Crossing to Terschelling



The shipping company that will take care of your crossing to Terschelling is Rederij Doeksen.

You can book your boat tickets online or by phone. In addition to the fact that some departures are quickly fully booked, you no longer have to queue at the counters at the beginning of the terminal.

When making your reservation, you can indicate which crossing (time / day / fast boat or ferry) you want to book and we will arrange this for you. As soon as you have transferred the payment, you will receive your boat tickets from us. In the event of cancellation / change of your boat tickets, we charge € 25.00 administration costs.
